LIFETIME LICENSING

David Licenses

Create and manage David Lifetime, Complimentary Lifetime, Organization Lifetime, and temporary Demo licenses. Licensing is separate from donations and there is no payment system on this website.

CREATE LICENSE

New lifetime / family license

Use Complimentary Lifetime when you want to grant David at no cost. All Lifetime license types activate with the same one-time 12-character code and never expire.

AUTOMATIC COMPUTER CLEANUP

Remove unused computer activations

If a licensed computer has not contacted the David license server for a long time, David can automatically deactivate that computer and free the seat. The Lifetime License itself is never deleted by this cleanup.

CHECKING

LICENSE CENTER

Customers & activated computers

Search license holders, reissue activation codes, transfer computers, disable/re-enable licenses, or permanently remove old test/unused license records.

MASTER SERVICE SWITCH

David Service Control

Control Connected Care from one place. This switch is manual — a normal website outage does not automatically suspend David. Local reminders and saved daily-care information on licensed computers remain available even when the cloud service is suspended.

PUBLISH UPDATE

Upload a David release

For Windows, you can upload the complete DAVID-x.x.x-SERVER-UPDATE-UPLOAD.zip I give you. The website extracts the BAT installer, checks its internal version, calculates SHA-256, stores the release notes, and publishes it.

RELEASE HISTORY

Published computer updates

Retiring a release removes it from the live update channel but keeps a copy in the server’s retired-release folder.

Backups & Recovery

Create a server backup of a person's profile, reminders and history before replacing a computer.

Registered users

Every caregiver account registered with this David server.

FRESH PHONE-APP START

Reset all caregiver accounts

Use this when you want David Caregiver to start fresh again. Every non-Administrator caregiver account will be removed and signed out.

DESTRUCTIVE

This reset KEEPS:your Site Administrator account, all Lifetime licenses, licensed computers/devices, reminders/history, backups, Service Control, Support David link, website settings, and historical sales records.

This reset REMOVES:all non-Administrator caregiver accounts, their sessions, phone push subscriptions, caregiver/device pairings, password-reset/verification tokens, and old caregiver invite/mobile setup codes.

Site Administrator accounts are always protected.

Administrator activity

Recent security and recovery actions. Passwords, setup keys and device tokens are never shown here.

AUTHENTICATED CUSTOMER EMAIL

Password recovery & email verification

David sends through authenticated DreamHost SMTP using the server's built-in cURL mail transport. The proven DreamHost server-mail path remains available only as a fallback for account messages if authenticated delivery has a temporary problem. For DreamHost use smtp.dreamhost.com, port 587, STARTTLS, and the full mailbox address as the username.

Security status

• SMTP mailbox passwords are encrypted at rest with the David server security key and are never returned to the browser after saving.

• Authenticated SMTP uses the PHP cURL SMTP engine with certificate verification; David no longer uses the hand-built SMTP socket sender.

• The local DreamHost server-mail route is retained only as a fallback so password recovery is not lost during a temporary SMTP outage.

• Sign-in, pairing, device setup, password reset, and web setup attempts are rate-limited.

• Password-reset links work once and expire after 30 minutes.

• Email-verification links work once and expire after 24 hours.

• Disabled caregiver accounts lose their sessions.

• Customer computer transfers are ownership-checked; Production self-service transfers are limited.
